Collecting Unemployment Benefits in Arizona, arizona unemployment weekly claim.#Arizona #unemployment #weekly #claim

Collecting Unemployment Benefits in Arizona

If you are out of work, you might be eligible for unemployment benefits. Unemployment compensation is available to those who are temporarily out of work, without fault on their parts. The basic structure of the unemployment system is the same from state to state. However, each state sets its own rules for eligibility, benefit amounts, filing procedures, and more. This article explains how unemployment benefits work in Arizona.

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) handles unemployment compensation and decides whether claimants are eligible for benefits. You must meet the following three eligibility requirements to collect unemployment benefits in Arizona:

  • You must be unemployed through no fault of your own, as defined by Arizona law.
  • You must have earned at least a minimum amount in wages before you were unemployed.
  • You must be able and available to work, and you must be actively seeking employment.

Reasons for Unemployment

You must be out of work through no fault of your own to qualify for unemployment benefits in Arizona.

  • Layoffs. If you were laid off, lost your job in a reduction-in-force (RIF), or got “downsized” for economic reasons, you will meet this requirement.
  • Firing. If you were fired because you lacked the skills to perform the job or simply weren’t a good fit, you won t necessarily be barred from receiving benefits. If, however, you were fired for misconduct, you may be disqualified from receiving benefits. In Arizona, you may not be eligible for benefits if you neglected your job duties, willfully disregarded your employer s interests, or deliberately violated workplace rules, among other things.
  • Quitting. You won’t be eligible for unemployment benefits if you quit your job voluntarily and without good cause. In general, good cause means that you had a compelling reason that left you no other choice than to leave. For example, if you left your job because of dangerous working conditions or discrimination that your employer refused to stop, you may be able to collect benefits. If you quit your job for compelling personal reasons that give you no alternative (for example, to care for a seriously ill family member or to search for work closer to your home, if your employer relocated beyond a reasonable commuting distance), you may also be eligible for benefits.

Past Earnings

Like every state, Arizona looks at your recent work history and earnings during a one-year “base period” to determine your eligibility for unemployment. (For more information, see Nolo’s article, Unemployment Compensation: Understanding the Base Period). In Arizona, as in most states, the base period is the earliest four of the five complete calendar quarters before you filed your benefits claim. For example, if you file your claim in September of 2015, the base period would be from April 1, 2014, through March 31, 2015.

To qualify for benefits in Arizona, you must meet either of the following criteria:

  • You must have earned at least 390 times the Arizona minimum wage during the highest paid quarter of the base period, and at least half that amount in the other three quarters of the base period combined.
  • You must have earned at least $7,000 in two combined quarters of the base period, with at least $5,987.50 earned in one of those quarters.

Availability to Work

To keep collecting unemployment benefits, you must be able to work, available to work, and looking for employment. (For more information, see Nolo’s article, Collecting Unemployment: Are You Able, Available, and Actively Seeking Work?) If you re offered a suitable position, you must accept it.

Whether a position is suitable depends on how similar the job is to your previous employment, how much you will be paid, the working conditions, and the skills, experience, and training required for the position. The longer you are unemployed, the more likely you will have to consider jobs that pay less, are in a different field or occupation, or require a longer commute.

You must engage in a good faith search for work, including registering with the Arizona Job Connection. You must keep records of your job search efforts, which you may have to submit with your weekly claim for benefits.

Amount and Duration of Unemployment Benefits in Arizona

If you are eligible to receive unemployment, your weekly benefit In Arizona will be 4% of the wages you earned in the highest paid quarter of the base period. (You can look up your exact benefit amount on the chart called Calculating Your Weekly Unemployment Insurance Benefit Amount.) The most you can receive per week is currently $240; the least you can receive is $122. You may receive benefits for a maximum of 26 weeks. (In times of very high unemployment, federal and state programs may make additional weeks of benefits available.)

How to File a Claim for Unemployment Benefits in Arizona

You may file your claim for unemployment benefits in Arizona electronically. You can find contact information and online filing information at the website of the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

Once the DES receives your application, it will send you a packet of documents, including a Wage Statement that provides your potential weekly benefit amount.

How to Appeal a Denial of Unemployment Benefits in Arizona

If your unemployment claim is denied, you have 15 days to appeal the decision to the Office of Appeals. A hearing will be held on your appeal, at which you may testify, present witnesses, and offer evidence before an administrative law judge (ALJ). The ALJ will issue a written decision in your case.

If you aren t satisfied with the ALJ s decision, you may file an appeal with the Appeals Board within 30 days. And, if you aren t satisfied with the decision of the Appeals Board, you may seek review in state court within 30 days.

For more information on the unemployment process, including current eligibility requirements and benefits amounts, visit the website of the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

Some Of Our Services

About Us

Jon Radowski, the owner and chief pilot of Apex Balloons, has been involved in ballooning essentially his entire life. His interest took off at the age of two when attending a balloon festival with his family. Jon knew from a very early age that he would become a balloon pilot as soon as he grew old enough. After the magic of his first flight, he began flight instruction at the minimum age of 14, designed and built his first hot air balloon at 17, earned his private pilot certificate later that year, and became a commercial pilot at 19 to begin ballooning as a full-time career. In addition to flying balloons, Jon is a balloon repairman, and also designs and builds hot air balloons. Take a look at what’s on the drawing board at the design manufacturing end of Apex Balloons.

Jon has more than 18 years of experience flying hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes. For years, he commanded one of the world’s very tallest hot air balloons, the Space Shuttle Patriot. Towering at a height of nearly 190 feet and with a wingspan of 115 feet, the shuttle balloon is three times taller than most balloons and twice as wide! Jon has flown some of the largest passenger balloons in North America, corporate balloons, special shapes, hot air airships, blimps, gliders, and airplanes. He has flown in eighteen different states as well as Canada, Mexico, Australia and Europe. He has a natural skill at flying balloons and takes considerable pride in his unblemished safety record, with thousands of happy passengers flown without a single injury. Jon is also a hot air balloon flight instructor and has trained a number of students through to their private and commercial hot air balloon pilot certificates.

Jon’s careful attention to detail, consideration for the enjoyment of guests, skill at controlling the balloon, and commitment to safety will ensure that you have a most incredible flight that will be remembered forever. Join us up there!

By mid-winter, my 2000 Pontiac Sunfire GT was not running well and then finally succumbed to electrical woes and computer glitches. I was hoping to get through one more winter with this.

Differences between Title and Registration Loans W

With so many loan products on the market you may be asking yourself which loan best fits your needs, a title loan or a registration loan. The biggest difference between these two loan products is that with an auto title loan you will need to show a clear vehicle title and with a registration loan. your vehicle does not need to be completely paid off, you just need to be making payments and be in good standing with your lender and have good registration at the time of the loan.

Also, registration loans have a maximum loan amount of $1,500 while auto title loans don’t necessarily have a maximum dollar amount attached to them. With a title loan having proof of income is not a requirement as it is with a registration loan. so although you may not have a job or proof of income because you are self-employed, chances are you can still walk out of one of our twelve valley locations with cash in hand in less than 30 minutes or less. With a Title Loan. terms can go up to 48 months because they can be larger dollar amounts than registration loans which have a maximum term length of 24 months. Basically if your car is paid off you will have to do an auto title loan and if you’re making payments you will have to apply for a registration loan. Both products interest rates are the same.

How Title 1 FHA Home Improvement Loans Work

The Federal Housing Administration (FHA), in conjunction with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides Title I FHAhome improvement loans to homeowners needing alterations, repairs or structural improvements. The FHA makes it easier for homeowners to obtain loans by guaranteeing the money lent out. If a homeowner defaults on paying back money owed, the FHA takes responsibility and pays off the debt. By working with lenders, the FHA makes funding available for borrowers who meet eligibility requirements. The funding allows homeowners to make their residence livable and safe. People who utilize the home improvement loans are those with credit issues, first-time home buyers and investors.

Eligibility

To qualify for the FHA Home Improvement Loan, a borrower must own the property, be leasing the property or be purchasing the property needing the improvements. Common repairs and/or renovations range from repairing the roof and fixing heating and cooling to repairing structural damages to the property. General repairs such as repainting walls and replacing cabinets or changes such as adding additional rooms would not qualify for the Title I loan. The homeowner of a single-family residence can qualify for up to $25,000 over 20 years for improvements. Homeowners in multifamily residences can qualify for up to $12,000 per unit over 20 years for improvements.

Approval Process

To participate in the program, applicants must complete an application with an approved lender. The FHA provides a complete list of approved lenders on its website. If the applicant is applying with a lender that is not on the approved list, the lender should recommend a lending institution that works with the Title I program. Title I loans have a higher interest rate than traditional loans. Some lenders may offer reduced interest rates as a way for residents to work on improving a community. Borrowers are qualified based on eligibility requirements and creditworthiness. In addition, the FHA charges the borrower a fee for the cost of insurance. If an applicant is approved, funds will be given directly to the borrower or to the company selected by the borrower to make the improvements.

Selecting a Company

Once a borrower has been approved for the loan, he or she should research and select a reputable company to do the repairs. He or she can check out the reputation of a company by contacting the Better Business Bureau or the local Chamber of Commerce. The Better Business Bureau can provide information to let a consumer know if any complaints have been filed against a company about its business practices or work. It is important for the borrower to know that neither the FHA nor the lender can be held accountable or held liable for work that is not completed correctly.

Repayment

The home improvement loan functions just as a traditional loan. The borrower has repayment terms that are outlined in the loan agreement. As previously mentioned, if a borrower defaults on the loan, the FHA will take responsibility in paying off the debt to the lender. Just as with all FHA loans, the home improvement loan does not have any penalties for prepayment or paying off the loan early.

Cost of Assisted Living

If you haven’t planned for senior living care, you aren’t alone. Few people do – either because they don’t think they’ll need it or because they want to save their assets for their children and believe that government subsidies will cover any care they need. This doesn’t mean they can’t afford suitable care; it just means the choices may be more limited. Fortunately, just like the variety in settings, styles, and amenities, senior living residences are available at a variety of price points.

Invest in Arizona home solar and watch the savings come in

Arizona Update: There is still time to go solar in Arizona

APS is Taking Away Your Energy Freedom

Tuesday, December 20th, in a 4-1 vote, the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) voted to end the current net metering (NEM) program that allows homeowners to sell the power produced from their solar panels back to the utility at the price they buy power from the utility. The good news is that if you go solar before the rates change July 1, you are grandfathered in under the current NEM program for the next 20 years.

    Lock In Solar Savings

You can protect your home from ever increasing energy bills and lock in solar savings by acting now and qualifying for the current NEM program. Don’t let the opportunity to save money on your electric bill for the next 20 years slip away.

You Are Your Own Power Company

The ACC has committed that all customers under the current NEM policy are protected for the next 20 years if you act before July 1! Also, keep in mind that the energy generated from your panels and you use in your home doesn’t involve the utility. When you go solar as long as the sun is shining you are your own power company!
